Base 33 is on the River Thames west of Oxford. The base shares the facilities of a well-established boat builder and fitter, so there is always a bustling atmosphere at this yard. and expert tuition available.
Easily reachable from London, Base 33 is the ideal place to take a short break., perhaps on the Upper Thames between our base and the Cotswold town of Lechlade - a rural stretch of river dotted with picturesque villages.
All craft are licenced for the River Thames only, so a visitor's licence is needed to cruise the South Oxford canal.

Short Break routes
Lechlade and Return: 14 locks 18 hours
A gentle run through lovely water meadows to the head of the navigation. A real 'get away from it all' country break and so different from the bustle of the lower reaches of the river.
Oxford and Return: 8 locks 6 hours
The centre of Oxford is three hours cruise from Base 33, and a great choice for a city break with your own floating accommodation!
Wallingford and Return: 22 locks 18 hours
Cruise through Oxford and on to Abingdon. Then head further down the River Thames to Wallingford or maybe Goring before returning.
One Week routes
River Thames to Henley and Return: 38 locks 32 hours
All the locks are worked for you by lock-keepers. Spend time visiting some of the towns that front the river - Oxford, Abingdon, and Henley-on-Thames. Remember that it takes longer to return up river as you will be running against the river flow.
Two Week routes
Cruise to London: 72 locks 70 hours
Head down to Teddington, then onto the Tideway to Brentford where you join the Grand Union Canal to cruise right into Central London. Moor in Little Venice and be 5 minutes' walk away from the Underground station and access to all of London's sights. A tight schedule for two weeks.
